Caravan Season
Shutdown period for 2019/20 is now over, as most caravan parks that close for the Winter months have reopened on the 1st March. We always see increased numbers of caravan refurbishments during these months, and this season has been a busy one!
As in previous years, we have undertaken upholstery work for Parkdean at the UK’s biggest caravan park, Trecco Bay in Porthcawl. We have also completed a number of refurbishments for private owners at a number of caravan sites from West Wales to Acorn Camping Site in Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan. These range from new seating upholstery to full make-overs with new upholstery on all seating, pelmets, kick-boards and headboards with new curtains and scatter cushions.

The caravanning industry is growing steadily in the UK and we love them so much that every year British people spend approximately 50 million nights inside their beloved mobile homes. Mike, at Caravan Helper states that: “In 2019, there are now over one million caravans in use in the UK and the caravan industry still remains an important contributor towards British tourism.” Caravan holidays at traditional parks remain a firm favourite with the British public and, here at Newton Fabrics, we love them too! With over 365,000 static caravans now in the UK, the possibilities for beautiful interiors with bespoke soft furnishings are endless, and this gets us really excited!

Of course, it’s not just static caravans that we have worked on – we have worked on tourers and camper vans, from new upholstery to new awnings, to upholstering the beds and seating in self-build campers and converted vans. The freedom of the open road can be enjoyed in comfort and style!
Here’s to another long season of warm days and nights, the beautiful British scenery and good old fashioned staycation holiday fun!
